Repub Ideas did NOT win, LIES did

For the love of God, STOP ALL THIS!!! It’s done. it’s over. We must learn to live with it. And live together.
Or go batshit insane, which is where some of you are headed.

 :frowning:  :frowning:  :frowning:

Jeez Spooje, it’s been all of 48 hours at most. It’s not like we’re doing this on Christmas Eve.

Yet.

Ya know, it seems *a lot * longer…

It’s a moot point - he can’t be an effective president anyway. Hell, the guy can barely string a coherent sentence together.

 Oh Man! You guys are a riot!! I had to sign up just so I could respond. To all that voted for Bush I have to ask. Do you realise the world is laughing at you?? Obviously, I feel none of the emotion as I am not from the USA, but I, like so many million others around the world do feel absolutely bewildered. Does it matter to to you all that he is looked on as a buffoon who has won with nothing but fear and an evangelistic approach that seems to have sucked you all right in. Cos it sure as hell isn’t his brilliant economic strategies. No one seems to really care what he is doing to the country. You guys just took a nosedive in the eyes of the world and your smug, gloating moral high horse position just reinforces the perception of arrogance that is the US of A

I really feel for those citizens who voted with a clear and conscientious regard to the state of the country. May the next 4 years go fast for you (although not too fast, we do love the comic material GW feeds us  )

~blink~
~blink blink~

This is why we lost.

We were dealing with facts and figures.
And many of y’all had your fingers firmly jammed into your ears singing “lalalalalala, can’t hear you!”

Hint: The facts are those lil’ things where they list the percentage of Republican voters who are clueless on various issues.

Ooh, this sounds like a bet to me. Maybe I’ve just been inspired by the balls of Bricker (and really, who hasn’t been inspired by those).

I say that on January 1, 2005 at 10 AM EST we look at Democratic Underground. Specifically, we look at the threads listed under “Latest Discussion Threads”. It appears that 40 threads are listed at any one time. I contend that of those 40 threads listed at the above time, 20 of them (or greater) will contain, within the original post, a reference to stealing the election, a duped electorate, false results, black box voting, or the idiocy of those that voted for Bush.

The prize, nothing other than a bucketfull of pride and the loser has to use the following appropriate sig for one month, added to all posts.
Should I win (20 or more), you would have to show the sig - From here. The 2004 election is final and just. While I don’t agree with Republicans, I can fully understand and accept that their views may be different than mine. This doesn’t mean either side is stupid, evil, or incorrect. Rather, it’s a sign of a healthy electorate.
You win (19 or fewer), I would have to show the sig - From here. Stoid proved me wrong. The post-election hand-wringing was just a sign of a hotly contested election. Democrats have raised some valid points and I assume that Republicans would have followed much the same path if Bush had lost.

Who will judge the posts? Hmmm, not sure. I’d say me, because I do know I would be impartial because in the end it is just a sig line at stake, but I assume you might be uncomfortable with that. Any ideas?

Jesus.

Ya know, it’s probably admirable that so many people are ready to say “Gee, we all can disagree and feel differently about things, can’t we? Let’s sing Kumbaya!” But it isn’t so and it isn’t ok and until we are all (or most of us) are voting from * a basis in reality * I don’t think we can talk about it ** enough **.

When the Neocons can garner half the vote without bald-faced lies, I’ll respect the win. Until then, sorry… I vote my values and what I value most is the truth.

Frankly, I think it disgusting that so many of you here and out there are ok with all the lies leading to all the death. And there’s a jaw-dropping crossover between people who find lies-that-lead-to-death perfectly alright. But lies about blow jobs are impeachment worthy.

And people wonder why I wept.

C’mon - you know they don’t care. Actually, I shouldn’t say that; some of them don’t even know how the rest of the world feels about the U.S. Some are ignorant, some are in denial (they actually believe the “coalition of the willing” represents the majority of world opinion), and some simply don’t care. This election was a referendum on whether we do whatever we want, whenever we want, and fuck the rest of the world. And unfortunately, more people voted for “fuck the rest of the world”. That’s why we’re split in 2 right now.

I wish it were only a laughing matter. :frowning:

Exactly.

If someone votes on the basis that SH and 9/11 (and there are those that did) were in cahoots, they are ignorant of the facts.

Take this Al-Zarqawi guy in Iraq beheading people like it’s going out of style. How many people are aware that long before the war, the Pentagon went to the Bush admin with a plan to take him out. They said no. The Pentagon came back a second time with another plan. Again, Bush said no. Finally a third plan to kill him was brought back to the WH, where they said no a final time.

And people make a stink that Clinton didn’t try “hard enough” to kill OBL.

People should be aware of these things.

See, here’s the thing: I enjoy laughing at the hateful ones. I laugh because, yanno, I really haven’t enjoyed being called an idiot and a liar and a baby-killer for many months now, not because of anything factual, but because my views don’t coincide with the hate slingers. And it’s pretty nice to be able to see that in the end, they are left with just their hate, while I’m in control of the country once again.

However, I enjoy spirited discussions with the rational amongst my opponents, and would never think to insult or belittle them because of their beliefs, and in fact would NEVER laugh at them for their loss. In fact, I find such discussions valuable for them and myself for allowing us to see both sides of a given issue and perhaps think of solutions that fit more than they don’t fit. Hell, my wife is on the other side of things, and we’re very much in love, thank you very much, despite our differences.

So, I divide the opposition into moderates and extremists, and deal with each differently. In fact, I’d say most people do.

And speaking of extremists, that brings us to you. You’re not interested in interesting, informed discussions. You’re not interested in learning; you’re not interested in growing, and honestly, you don’t really have much to share with your fellow discusser anyhow, when it really comes down to facts and situations. All you have is a big bucket of hatred for those that don’t fit your mold.

There are words to describe this sort of attitude; intolerant, and bigot immediately spring to mind.

So, the thing is, Stoid, don’t feel that because I don’t include you, that I’m not inclusive. Just because you’re not invited to the party doesn’t mean I don’t intend to have a lot of people and viewpoints there. Just not yours. You can hang out in the parking lot with all the other hate-mongers.

My Natasha could tear your Ann Coulter a new one in about ten seconds flat.

Okay, 'nuff!

Everyone relax this weekend. Drink, smoke, shoot up, have sex (and butt sex while it’s still legal, you know) and DON’T THINK OR TALK POLITICS.

Hell, I got sick working the polls on Tuesday for Kerry in Wisconsin, am still sick, and I’m letting it go. They won, we lost, and gobear is our new leader for 2008.

Umm…Bill, I don’t mean to intrude on your little delusional vacation, but you were not even elected dog-catcher.

As for the rest of your wahwahwah… well, I was going to ask about your other delusions regarding being called a baby killer and an idiot, particularly by me (never, making it up, which means, yes, I’m calling you a LIAR LIAR LIAR, so that much is true) but then I realized that you are, as we’ve seen, convinced that you and George W. Bush are the same person, and since these things are being said of him, they are obviously being said of you.

Scary, man. You should see someone about that.

Boris, darling, I object to being in the same sentence with that sick cunt, in any context.

See what she made me say?

Natasha! In front of the kids?

Look, brew up a nice cup chamomile tea, put your feet up, read some P.G. Wodehouse. Today is theirs, the future is ours. Venceremos!

You must be joking, Stoid. I mean honestly; do you really not remember what comes out of your own mouth?

I’m not going to waste my life digging through your past nuggets; I’ll limit my time wasted to this thread alone:

Claims that my kind are liars

stupid

Ignorant

Corrupt

Manipulative

Baby killers

Oh, apparently, our leaders are pedophiles, and we approve

I mean, really, Stoid. You honestly wouldn’t be offended if people made these sorts of lying accusations about you? You honestly wouldn’t gloat after such arrogent people lost an election, finally getting to laugh at them and their arrogance? Well, Stoid, that’s how some of us feel.

You wept. Please. Cry me a river, angel.

Fwiw I don’t see the baby killer claim.

Yeah, I used to laugh whenever they ran those ads on TV selling his crappy CDs.
