My first encounter with you, you were anything but polite.
I tried responding to your rather inflammatory rhetoric with politeness, and you responded with more vitriol.
Now, maybe the fact that I am not a trump supporter lumps me in with any and everyone else that was ever mean to you, but if you are trying to say that you treat others the way you yourself are treated by them, you are very, very wrong.
I’m appalled. I put you at the top of the list where you’d get all the attention, and you’re not grateful? You attack me for this? Next time you’ll just be left between Clothy and OMG. BTW, they have mastered removing their head from their asses on occasion, a skill you really need to learn. There is so much they can teach you.
Yeah, there’s a couple of so-called conservative posters here who just think it’s fun to troll. Not that they’re not conservatives, but they don’t bother to argue the merits. It’s still trolling if the only reason you post is to annoy people you don’t like, even if you believe everything you say.
Again, the conflation of trolling with insincerity is nonsense. You don’t have to be posting insincerely to be a troll. What makes a troll is only posting because you enjoy annoying people you don’t like.
You are correct. I treat the jackasses on this forum better than they treat me and others they disagree with. If you are polite and reasonable I respond in kind. If you are a foul mouthed jackass than I don’t owe you or your argument any respect. I rarely use any of the obscene or disgustingly vulgar language many on this forum do.
I don’t understand the need for vulgar insults involving perverse acts. Maybe I’m not edgy enough?
See, this is trolling, because obviously you do. You like getting into twitter fights, just like Trump.
Again, it doesn’t matter if you sincerely think liberals are idiots to make you a troll. The same literal post can make you a troll in one context and just a “me too” braindead AOLer in another context.
“Herp derp, Republicans are tards” is trolling when you post it for a conservative audience, but it’s merely unhelpful and pathetic when you post it for a liberal audience. Same person posting the same thing that they sincerely believe, in one context trolling, in another not trolling.
That has not been my experience with you, but if you feel that you have responded to my posts respectfully, then I will assume that that I misunderstood the vitriol you posted at me.
Now, I find it’s alot of work to keep all of you straight, so it seems like quite a bit of work to try to treat everyone the way they treated me. I could make a mistake, and assume that someone was more inflammatory than they meant to be, and react based on my perception of their post, rather than their intent. I could err on the side of being more inflammatory than they were. I could completely fuck up and think I am responding to a different poster who has attacked me, and I attack “back” unjustifiably."
I find it much much easier to try to treat others with the kind of respect that I would like to have towards my own posts.
As far as language, it is perfectly damn possible to have a shitty vocabulary, and still be pretty fucking pleasant.
It is also possible, with no profanity whatsoever, to be hostile and unpleasant.
As far as vulgar or perverse acts, I’d have to see an example of what you are talking about, (preferably not in the pit, as whatever… like I said, if you are offended, or take attitude away from here, don’t post or read here.) to determine whether it was appropriate.
Most people on this board are pretty far to the left (and disconnected from reality), so it’s natural that when someone with a firmer grasp of the real world comes along (a conservative), y’all would think they were trolls.
In six years, I’ve not seen a single conservative here who hasn’t been deemed a troll.
See, even you have an occasional moment of clarity. Well, three words worth anyway. Are you planning on continuing treatment now that you’re losing your Obamacare?
No, it’s people tha make comments like this one, dismissing any and all thought and opinion of those who do not align with yuor political beliefs that tend to be poorly thought of.
Go up thread a bit, and you’ll see a list of conservative posters who are explicitly not considered trolls, and you would see that those who are, there is not a consensus upon most.
If you are saying that there has never been a conservative poster who was never called a troll be anyone at all, you may be right, but I am pretty sure that every poster on here, at one time or another, was thought of as being a troll by someone.
And, there are quite a number of posters who, while they are not trolls, do occasionally engage in rather trolling behavior, so accusations of trolling are not the same as accusations of being a troll.
I have rarely seen someone who is okay with stomping on another person’s rights and life converted by being polite (which usually means “don’t point out anything bad about their beliefs; just shut up and take it”).
BigT posted a nice list of respected conservatives who regularly post here. I guess you missed it. Here’s the short version of his post; your name was noticeably missing.
This demonstrates the biggest reason why I’m glad I joined the Navy - I served with all kinds of people, and it forced me to get over the juvenile stance that people who disagreed with me were just divorced from reality, or stupid, or dishonest. No, it taught me that depending on their experiences, thoughtful and decent people can reach very different conclusions. It’s a shame that this juvenile belief is so widespread, though. Even though we disagree, I believe that you, OMG, came about your positions honestly, and you’re probably a decent guy, even if you think I’m divorced from reality because I’m generally liberal.
