After many years on the Dope I can tell you that you are also an ignoramus.

Before joining I noticed a constant criticism of the Clinton presidency, it made me think that this was a conservative site. I eventually joined as I realized a lot of it was fair critisism, but it could be many times countered.

The Bush years did show me that many conservatives and Republicans were beginning to ignore evidence and good sources.

Paradoxically a good number of votes Trump got was because Trump was the Republican that dared to say that the Bush the lesser administration was a disaster.

Now, I can understand and tolerate a lot of conservatives here, I can deal with contrarian ideas, but the issue at hand here is about conservatives that are trolls or jerks. Choose your poison for the few mentioned here (really, you are only being more of an obtuse for not wanting to realize that only a few very disruptive posters have been mentioned). As pointed before, many conservatives do not make the effort of seeking reasons to get banned.

I think that conservatives are preventing any discussion from going past that point of loggerheads, which doesn’t avoid any of the problems with echo chambers. In fact there are plenty of posters who seem to be in their own echo chambers now.

The idea that there has to be a greek chorus of fuck yous in order to have meaningful debates about public policy is ridiculous.

If this is a liberal board you’d think there would be room for a thread on how to deal with progressive concerns, without having to defend yourself against right wing triumphalism and venom.
