I wish the moderators would purge these trolls. They derail every political conversion and cause it to shut down. I’ve been frequenting MetaFilter more lately, where trolling is dealt with aggressively, and it is amazing how constructive and instructive the discussions are. This message board should strive to that level of discourse.

I think that conservatives are preventing any discussion from going past that point of loggerheads, which doesn’t avoid any of the problems with echo chambers. In fact there are plenty of posters who seem to be in their own echo chambers now.
