Immediate as in immediately start withdrawal (which most experts say will take at least a year) or immediately withdraw, as in “OK, everyone leave NOW!!”?
The 3 major candidates (Clinton, Obama, Edwards) all take the position that they will start to “redeploy” troops (whatever that means), but they all say they will leave some troops there (50 - 60K?) indefinitely in order to 1) Continue training the ISF, 2) Protect American interests (Embassy, etc) and 3) Fight al Qaeda.
I know that Kucinich wants all the troops out ASAP, but I don’t know about the others. My sense is that Kucinish and Paul are on the same page on this issue.
