Request for Contact Info. Work-related dilemma...

The other day, my BIL emailed me the name of a person he identified as a recruiter with my company and asked me if I could send him her contact information (i.e. phone number). He’s a headhunter for a smallish company in the Boston area, and I work for a big technology consulting company headquartered elsewhere in the country.

I’m apprehensive about divulging contact info of a co-worker, even to my BIL. He’s on vacation, so I have a few days to decide.

Am I just being overly conservative/paraniod? What would you do?

If it’s something you would definitely not do if he weren’t your BIL, then I’d say you shouldn’t do it even though he is.

I agree. Many companies have rules against divulging infomation about employees outside, and take quite extensive precautions against it.
