Research for writing gig: NYC area biker hangouts & bars

I’ve got a fun writing assignment. I’m doing a journalistic tour of local motorcylist hang-outs.

I ride a motorcycle myself, but I’m not hard-core about it so I don’t really know about many biker hangouts. Can you guys and gals help me out with suggestions?

I want to get a wide spectrum of places, meaning:

  1. All 5 boroughs are fair game, not just Manhattan.
  2. I’m not looking for JUST bars – all public biker-friendly establishments, like diners, will be included.
  3. I want upscale, downscale and in-between places. (Go away Opal. I don’t need any help making lists.)

Also, if you can reccommend any good NYC biker websites, that might come in handy too.
