Lately I’ve been getting a lot of calls from the “Reserve Peace (or Police) Officers Association” asking me for donations. The thing is, based upon the accents of the people calling me, I suspected they aren’t local, and when I called my local police department, they said they knew nothing about it and were definitely not doing any fund raising – nor were their Reserves. So does anyone that the Straight Dope on this outfit? Are they legit or just another group of scammers? Has anyone else been hit up for money by this group?
