Resident Alien, aka Quincy, E.T

I do believe that something bad happened to her father, for the following reasons:

  1. They went out of their way to show that she and her father are very close, and probably only have each other.
  2. Nothing good every happens in a lighthouse.

The engine she took a picture of was different than Harry’s.

Seemed to be a large ship with a cluster of the dishes Harry’s ship has one of.

That seems reasonable to me.

But I don’t agree that it’s been established that everyone in Linda Hamilton’s project is human. Part of my reason for thinking that is that writers like to provide surprises.

But another part is that in this story we know that alien-Harry has been tasked with killing off human life in Earth…and for him to have been given that job, someone from his world–probably several someones–had to have spent time here. They have some way of coming and going that’s at least relatively “routine”—remember, a-H said his wife died and so he took this job. The implication is that they can come and go without it being a lifetime mission.

So I think it’s likely that someone from his home world would be checking up on a-H. And since disguising themselves as human is (we know) no big deal, what better place to conduct their search than from inside the “seeking aliens” project being run by the Earthlings’ military?

We shall see.

I’m just going to say this -

You know you’re old when “50 years ago” is 1971 - and you were alive at that point.

This was exactly my thought. I was expecting the 1940s, and then when it wasn’t I just felt old and glum.

Even worse is that not only were you alive then…but you were older than Hamilton’s character was at that time ! I’ll just put my other foot in the grave now…

(I could have sworn that model Polaroid wasn’t available until the 80’s, though)

11th grade…

That was a fun episode tonight. Good to see Max back and Max and Harry working together. I think Linda Hamilton is definitely underused though.

Did anyone else yell for Mayor Snowflake to ‘stop talking’ ?

‘still dreaming!’

Love means never having to say you’re sorry.

That marriage has issues that could result in a ‘change partners’ direction for the plot.

I’m seeing Ms. Control pairing up with Dr. Perfect, and the Mayor getting back together with the train-wreck-but-likeable bartender.

Maybe.

I do love this show!

The octopus was Nathan Fillion, wasn’t it?

Good Catch - listed on IMDB as ‘uncredited’

Boy, I hope our love for this show translates to a second season.

Sorry guys, I like this show. It is probably doomed. :frowning:

So of course bowling alley employees would have a bong made from a bowling pin.

I’m glad they came up with a reason that the aliens are going to kill all humans, and that it makes sense. A lot better than a “humans will be problem for the galaxy in the future” reason that you run into a lot.

“Oh my god, are you high?”

Honestly, I thought it sounded like Patton Oswalt, or at least someone trying to sound like Patton Oswalt. Especially when the octopus got excited.

I thought it was Patton Oswalt too. My wife thought it was Tudyk talking to himself.

Fillion’s IMDB page now lists him as the octopus.

Tudyk had been saying there was going to be a FF guest star and when !AlienHarry was talking to !DeadHarry I was thinking he was doing a Paul Bettany and talking about himself as a guest star.
