Resolved: "Mediterranean" food is the most delicious of foods

You know, shawarma, hummus, kabobs, falafel, tzatziki, etc etc. Easily the most delicious of foods in the world- a virtually guaranteed good lunch.

Discuss.

(and before anyone jumps on me for the generalization in the title: I’ve noticed that a lot of these types of restaurants 1: list themselves that way on Yelp and such and 2: overlap between cultural cuisines–a restaurant run by Jordanians will still have some more-Greek stuff, etc.)

((and and: in the interest of full disclosure, I’m presently eating my chicken kabob lunch with some delicious spicy hummus from a brand new Mediterranean spot in town))

I’ve noticed incredible quality differences between these places, one place might have the correct pressed lamb and tzaki? sauce for their gyros, another place is using tiny cubes of meat that tastes horrible and what tastes like watered down mayo.

Also hummus, hummus can be incredibly delicious but canned hummus tastes so bad I’m afraid to try a place on a whim.
