Restaurants inside Walmart

Our Walmart in central NC has a McDonald’s in it. They don’t serve the full menu, though.

We had a McDonalds (the first second restaurant we ever had) but when the county went wet, they replaced it with booze.

My local Sam’s Club has a cafe. I haven’t noticed a name. The pizza is good. They have hot dogs and other sandwiches.

There was a Dunkin Donuts inside the local Walmart here in RI. It was patently ridiculous because there was another freestanding DD right across the street.

The Walmart DD eventually closed.

We have a Subway in the Wal-Mart right across the street from another Subway. This is in a town of 10,000 and a county of 30,000 with very few chain restaurants, *none *outside of the biggest city. When approached, they typically say, “are you kidding…no customers!”

I live in a town of 6,500 people. We have three free-standing Subways. Two were already here when we moved in 17 years ago, and the third one moved into the strip of stores it’s in a year or two after the strip was built about 10 years ago. Apparently we love us some Subway.

On the very very rare occasions that I’m actually inside any Walmart, anywhere, this is the thought that NEVER enters my head:

“Hey, this is so great, I wonder if there’s someplace I can stop for lunch so that the experience lingers a little longer”.

This is the thought that DOES enter my head:

“Please God help me get out of this hell-hole as fast as possible, or even transport me instantaneously if it be your will to work a much-desired miracle.”

The Walmart near me has a Subway in it.

wolfpup, if you have something to add to the topic of discussion, feel free to do so. If you do not, then nobody is forcing you to post anyway.

One of ours has a subway, the other had a McDonalds that was recently replaced by Burger King. One of them also had a nail salon inside but that, too, disappeared.

Our Walmart must be a full service version. Subway, hair salon, bank and optometrist. It originally had a McDonalds with reduced menu. I actually like sitting in the Subway and watching the babes. I do find that the ambiance in a Walmart is highly dependent on the location and North Olmsted is a moderately upscale suburb.

Our Ralph’s (Kroger) has a bar.

until the Walmart moved in where the Costco used to be it had another mcd’s straight across the street in a gas complex …

Typically, Sam’s Club runs their own snack cafe. The hot dogs are Nathan’s brand. Costco has a similar setup, except they sell their own brand of hot dogs. I think BJ’s Wholesale might also be similar, although I haven’t been in one for 11 years.

Both Sam’s and Costco seem to have pretty good food. And it’s the cheapest lunch I can find - the hot dogs (which are large) with a soda (and refills!) sell for $1.50-$1.60. I can’t even bring food from home for that little money!

Louisville, KY area, too. Though McD is rare now. In one of the local Walmarts, you used to be able to order and pay for McD at the Walmart registers.

Same. Though I’ve never been in one further west than Durham Region, so.

Walmart here is Subway.

Spearfish, SD Walmart is a Papa Johns.

Rapid City, SD contains a McDonalds.

All K-Marts contain lately is palpable sadness and the looming spectre of Death.

'round these parts, we got McDonald’s in the Walmart, Subway in the Home Depot.

I’ve never seen any sort of food place in a Home Despot. There’s usually a hot dog vendor out in the parking lot, but that’s it.

Same, mine had a Blimpie which turned into a generic pizza place, which then turned into a Rally’s which still doesn’t have that much business.

Considering the amount of traffic that goes into my local Wal-Mart (it’s the type where it’s the only big store in a shopping center literally surrounded by residential houses and apartments miles deep) I’m wondering how the hell anyone can fail in it.
