Specifically places that are known for good pancakes.
I looked at Yolk’s menu. Quite impressive, but all of their pancakes are fruit based. I’m looking for a place that serves pancakes with a more spicey (cinnamon, nutmeg, etc.) and nutty twist.
Any such places?
I’ve moved this from Cafe Society (general forums) to the “Straight Dope Chicago” area. I think you’ll get more responses here.
**Lou Mitchell’s **is probably your best bet for breakfast downtown. Can be a long line but the food is outstanding. They have menus ontheir websiteso you can check out their breakfast offerings.
Oh, and **The Original Pancake House**downtown is pretty great. They have a large pancake menu.
I ate at Eleven City Diner on Sunday and they had very good breakfast, though a little pricey. Their signature french toast was $13, but it was so big I split it in half with my sister and was still stuffed.
I got some pancakes from the Billy Goat before. Very yummy, but they severely short you on syrup.
