Resume Email Help?

Help please?

I was recently laid off and I’m getting my resume together. I haven’t sent out a resume in years so I am at a loss on some of the newer etiquette.

My problem is my email… example… say my name is Jane Q Public Married; my everyday email is jqpm99@gmail.blah That just seems like a jumble of letters to people that don’t know me. I have another email, Jane99pm@gmail.blah , which, for no real reason, just doesn’t seem proper to me.

I can sign up for Married.Jane99@gmail.blah or Jane.Married99@gmail.blah it’s just that I have so many addresses already!

So my question… should just I go with email 1 or 2 or would it look better if I just use a new email with my full name? If full name, does the first/last name order matter?

Thanks for any advice!!

If your name is uncommon enough to be able to get something with your full name, that would be nice. Otherwise, don’t sweat it. Jane_the_boozer@gmail.com would not be so great, but after someone puts it into the system, it won’t matter much. Spend your time proofreading, not trying out email addresses.

Ha, I’m stressing this much over the email address; you should’ve seen me sweating the details of the resume! :stuck_out_tongue:

Do you know me?

I though I might be over thinking it; just making sure. I will go the full name route.

Thanks so much for the help!!

Buy your own domain name, so you could be Marge@simpsons.com or Jane@austen.com or whatever. Then set up forwarding to your gmail account.
