Resume for a tutoring job.

Hi guys,

The college that I am currently attending sent en e-mail out asking for applicants for a tutoring position. They are asking for a resume and an academic transcript and frankly I don’t know what to put on my resume. As a freshman in college anything I can consider a resume outside of my academic record is pretty sparse. What do you reccommend I put?

The main things to consider when writing a resume for a job is showing that you are qualified for the job. Things that would make you qualified to tutor would be classes that you’ve had, grades in courses that you would be tutoring, past tutoring experience (possibly in high school), and maybe past experience that shows you are a responsible employee.

That considered, I would think that you should start out listing your current major and GPA. Then any past tutoring experience. Followed by what courses you’ve completed and grades in those courses (only the ones that are relevant though.) After that information, you can simply list previous work experience. Any would be relevant to demonstrate you would be a responsible tutor.
