I’m in the process of looking for a new job and the hunt continues with little success. I rarely get a nibble when I apply, even for jobs I’m very qualified for. In order to shake things up and make sure I’ve covered all my bases I am re-doing my resume as I think that it’s not doing me justice.
I know that when I apply online and a system tells me I can upload my resume and it will auto populate the fields for me that it doesn’t capture the information properly and I always have to go in and manually input the data, so the format of it is wrong. It looks nice and is clear for a human to read it, but it’s not formatted for automated systems.
So - I need to optimize my resume for online job postings, both the format of it and making sure I use the proper key words. Can anyone point me to a good example of what I should make it look like format-wise?
