Resumes for non-job seekers

I want to solicit some ideas on my dilemma. I currently have a great job at a good company and don’t intend to move anytime soon. Part of my grad-school application requests a link to a current resume. What I would like to do is post my resume through LinkedIn and provide that link to the university.

My question is, what is the best way to indicate that I am not currently seeking a position on my resume?

I’m updating my somewhat stale resume, which begins with an ‘objective’ section describing the position I am looking for (my current job). Changing this to ‘not seeking a new position at this time’ seems both blunt and weird. Leaving the objective section out seems a little ambiguous.

My main interest here is to not set off any alarm bells if someone from work comes across my resume. The corporate atmosphere here is good, and it probably wouldn’t be a big issue, but why court drama?

I’ve never had an objective section on my resume. Could be lawyers use a different style. Think I’d either just omit the objective section, or change it to say currently seeking admission to a graduate program in (your field here).

I am not a pro resume writer person.

Good suggestion. But why does your grad school insist that you post your resume on the web? Wouldn’t a pdf or Word copy do? If it is on the web, it can be mined for your email, address, and phone number.
