Retiement Celebrating

Congrats on your decision. The day I quit working it was like someone lifted a 300 pound weight off my shoulders. That was six years ago and I’ve never looked back.

I just got that. Touché.

I’m still waiting to get it.

Lil help?

Re-tie-ment (thread title)

Ms Hook and I bought a 5th wheel just before retiring. We use it a lot, probably 4-5 months a year. Love every minute of it. The national parks are a real treat when you can pull your own home right in and stay for 2-3 weeks. Hope you enjoy yours as much as we do ours.

We’re off to Israel and Jordan in February. in mid May we’re going to Europe for a couple of months.

We have no debt and as much coming in as we did when we worked. Yep, if you didn’t have to be so old this retirement thing would be perfect.

Congrats Snnipe.

We’ll be retiring in just a few years and we’re counting the days. We’ve been avid RV’ers our entire marriage and we recently bought our “retirement” camper. Since we’re now out of the kid stage, we got something more luxurious and suited to a couple of adults (free standing table and chairs, rather than a dinette-that-converts-to-a-kid-bed; that sort of stuff). We’re also shopping for a bigger boat, as we’re no longer towing youngsters on tubes/etc. and can concentrate on a bigger cabin (with A/C and TV) for old folk’s comfort.

We’ve been excitedly watching the milestones finally pass, as they seemed so far away when we started… house paid off, accounts fully vested, investments goals etc. It’s hard to believe we’re actually there.

I hope retirement for you is as great as I’m imagining it. As you said, we paid our dues.
