Yes, with the obvious (wrong) answer of Frankenstein out of the way…please keep working on it
A palace intrigue goes bad. Normally this would result in capital punishment, but Our Tragic Hero is condemned to an eternity of torment (through the use of exotic life-extending techniques). A tormented eternity later, he is inadvertently released from his stasis prison. His rescuers then spend the rest of the story trying to (a) kill him, and (b) prevent him from reviving the woman who was the object of his intrigue.
Bonus, which of course I thought of just after I submitted this:
A palace intrigue goes bad. The noblewoman who is the object of the intrigue (some people say she started the affair in the first place) is forced to decide whether her boytoy will be forever unavailable to her because he is DEAD or because he is MARRIED.
Now I’m thinking Akira.
The Mummy (1932)?
I was thinking of the more recent remake. I’ll accept your answer all the same, as it should be the same plot.
A supernatural creature and his small companion kidnap innocent children… and the only one who can stop him is a dashing rogue.
Could it be…Peter Pan?
A handsome young man has the affection of every girl in the town except the girl he loves, who unfortunately is trapped in an abusive relationship and has a serious case of Stockholm Syndrome. He tries to rescue her from this relationship but she doesn’t live in the real world and as such keeps insisting her man can change, and that there’s really some good in him.
Yes. Yes it is.
Mmmmh… Beauty and the Beast?
It does sound like the point of view of the people I know who hate that movie.
Is it Twilight?
That’s pretty good, but not the one I was looking for. I think I threw you off with the “animated” - I’m not that subtle.
Jurassic Park?
Yes.
I honestly wouldn’t know.
This one’s still unanswered - anyone want to take a crack at it?
Hells yeah! You got it.
pravnik: I think that’s First Blood, but the “apparent infidelity” leads me to suspect that the plot is set about 800 years earlier.
No to the spoilered answer, but I think you’re on the right track…
Is it:
Othello?
I’ll add one, could be too easy.
A powerful gangster chases after a man who betrayed an agreement, and finds him when he least expects it. The man ends up saving him from two crazy guys, and the gangster allows his rescuer to live if he skips town.
