Reviews of Trader Joe's products

Have you ever had Teddy Grahams? It tastes like pureed teddy grahams. I stopped buying it once I realized I was foregoing actually using it as a spread and just eating it out of the jar because it’s goddamn delicious.

I won’t defend TJ products as healthy, but their products do tend to be made with actual food and the ingredient lists for things like frozen stir-fries are usually something like “chicken, vegetables, rice” instead of “isolated soy protein, chicken, maltodexrin,” etc.

This stuff is yummy! I think it cures cancer, and it might even be G.M. free (whatever that means).

Particular favorites of mine include:[ul]
[li]Those round mochi ice cream balls (in chocolate, strawberry, mango, and green tea flavors!)[/li][li]Any of the Trader Moon wines - $4.99 a bottle. I regard $10 for a bottle of wine as seriously splurging, as a point of reference for my tastes; we usually have a couple of these lying around. Viognier has become my favorite white because of these folks.[/li][li]Their orange juice, for some reason that I’ve not bothered to investigate, tastes different (and better) than what I get at other stores.[/li][/ul]

Trader Joe’s also has some wonderful produce. We’ve had ridiculously delicious melons that I haven’t seen anywhere else but France as well as fabulously ripe pears, meyer lemons and the best oranges I’ve ever eaten. Sometimes you get a clunker but the fruit and veggies are usually even better than what I get at my local Shop-Rite.

Just got back from Trader Joe’s, and I didn’t see one misled cancerous child! Must have been a slow day.

I like the frozen Mac & Cheese. On it’s own, its a bit heavy (though very tasty) so I add steamed broccoli and some ham. There’s plenty of gooey cheese sauce to cover everything.

Yeah, they still have them at my local TJs, and I think they’re about 5.99 per 1lb bag.

Yes, this is a zombie thread; but it’s here…

Tonight we had Trader Joe’s Chicken Piccata (and leftover ‘Italian style’ veg from the supermarket). My wife pronounced it ‘OK’. I’ve had it before, and I’d rate it higher than ‘OK’; but it’s not a ‘must have’. Its main advantages are that it’s quick and easy, and it’s tasty. Maybe a bit salty, and I like salt.
