Richard Herring Is A Funny Man

If, like me, you have been feeling a little jaded and bored the last while, can I please recommend to you a visit to www.richardherring.com.

For those of you Stateside, Richard Herring is a 30-something British comedian and playwright whose latest work, ‘Talking Cock’, stormed the Edinburgh Festival last year (it was written as an answer to the Vagina Monologues).

Richard’s daily diary on his site is quite simply squash-spewingly funny, and he is utterly dedicated to finding out everything there is to know about the male organ (he even went to Iceland just to interview the owner of the Icelandic Phallological Association, whose mission in life it is to have a preserved specimen of every mammal’s todger).

The man’s a complete joy, and the diary is called ‘Warming Up’ on the website.

Cress, cress. Lovely, lovely cress.

Ah yes. Ian Cress of the Cress Marketing Board.

RH had a thing about people called Ian. Arguably the funniest sketch that he wrote for On The Hour was about the club for people called ‘Ian’. I wonder why.
