Richard Lewis dies at 76 (2/28/2024)

22 minutes from Dave:

As an occasional Curb watcher, that’s too bad, but unsurprising. He looked 90, not mid 70s.

I remember thinking that his standup stuff was pretty funny back in the day. And I quite liked Anything but Love as well, although I headed off the college halfway through its run, and that kind of got in the way of keeping up with it, so I moved on.

I was paying extra attention to Curb Your Enthusiasm last night because Richard Lewis was in the episode. I was surprised how gaunt and, frankly, old he looked. In my memory, he’s younger and healthier.

We love Curb and just watched this episode over the weekend. That one hurt!

I think the Parkinsons did a number on him as he did age rapidly over the last couple years. Of course, neither of my parents have Parkinsons and they both aged rapidly in the later 70s. They went from my older parents, to my old parents in a short period of time. Same with my inlaws.

On the other hand, Larry David still looks like the same Larry David. The rest of the cast are all aging.

Both were in one of my favorite movies as a kid - The Wrong Guys. Starred some classic 70s/80s comedians playing versions of themselves going on a camping trip.Louis Anderson (also passed) was the lead.
