The thread was just closed an hour ago. And then the subject mod of this thread goes in to get a last word…? That doesn’t seem fair or appropriate.

I for one am glad it was finally closed. I stopped posting due to the blatant transphobia and transmisogyny on display and saw as the usual suspects (like RickJay) chased away more and more of our allies until it became an echo chamber. The hate and bigotry of us displayed in that thread I feel wouldn’t have been tolerated for so long if it was focused on any other minority.
Thanks to the mods for doing the right thing.
Damn shame about the other thread. It was one of the most interesting threads here. Maybe it should have been moved to the pit, but it seems draconian to me to shut it down entirely. People are going to have different opinions about controversial topics. Censorship is not the solution.
…I started this thread to address a specific moderation issue and that issue was answered to my satisfaction. I’m now getting notifications and emails every time someone posts an opinion about that other thread and I really don’t want to have to deal with that, so as my question was asked and answered I’d like to request that this one be closed.
This thread seems to have outlived its usefulness, so I’ll grant your request.
