Last night at Wal-Mart I had a few groceries to buy. I looked over my purchases and estimated the amount to be about twenty dollars. It turned out the exact amount, with sales tax, was exactly $20.00 to the penny! It made me feel like I was Rain Man for a moment. Do you ever feel really smart or intuitive when things like this happen? How often do you make a quick estimate that turns out to be spot on?
Me and Mr. K used to play the Grocery Guess Game, whereby the closest guess wouldn’t have to pay for the groceries. Not much incentive to try hard, since our funds are pooled, but it was fun anyway. I don’t think we ever hit it right on the nose, though.
