Right Place - Right Time

Yesterday my daughter and her two best friends were hanging out waiting for the concerts to begin at the Warped Tour http://warpedtour.launch.com/ when one of the stage hands walked over to them and asked them if they wanted to help serve lunch and dinner to the band members in exchange for back stage passes.

Of course they had to think about it for less than, ohhhhh. . .

.000000000000000009 seconds.

They spent the entire day and evening serving food to the band members of Green Day, Mighty Mighty Boss Tones, Long Beach Dub Allstars, MXPX, NOFX, Pappa Roach, Anti-Flag, Suicide Machines, and a bunch of others I can’t think of at the moment.

When they weren’t serving food, they were hanging out with the bands or watching concerts from the side of the stage.

Out of thousands and thousands of people at this concert, they just happened to be standing at the right place at the right time when the stage hand went out to find cute girls to serve food.

They will be on seventh heaven for a few months.

Have you ever been in the right place at the right time?

Let’s hear your story.

This is kinda related. There is a girl who I used to be very good friends with. She has since betrayed me and my family, very severly. We live in the same city, but on opposite ends, and we really should never run into each other. However, things keep happening that we ALMOST see each other. Such as at a Badminton tournament that my sister was in. I was going to go watch her, but it would have taken me 2 hours to bus there and so I didn’t; my sister walked right into my old friend. Another is I recently got a new job, they were hiring a number of people. After I got the job I found out that she had also applied and that our interviews were to be back to back. I would have seen her at a job interview, where I would have likely hit her. But, she didn’t show.

It is just wierd. I figure i will bump into her at some point.

Well the lukiest I’ve ever been was I was standing in line to buy a ticket for Stampede on the 6th and someone came up to me and asked if I was paying for a ticket I said yah and she handed me a free pass to get in.

I live in Orlando and perform at Disney from time to time. Everytime I do I get free passes to all the parks in the area.

i absolutly love going to the parks with my passes and grabbing my soon expiring tickets on the way out.

I then, before entering, look for a family with a ton of kids. Usually they have to pay over 35 bucks per person to get into the park. I then give my extra tickets.

Those people must definitly feel they are in the right place at the right time…

Ahhhhh… my good doing is done…

Good! Now you can get back to evil deeds!

Friend and I went to a Pirates game earlier this year. We pass a parking garage, but figure we’ll drive around the block to see if we can find a cheaper one. We couldn’t, so we went to the original one.

We park, and are about to head out, when a businessman type rushes up to us and says his battery died and he needs a jump. Apparently he’d been waiting about half an hour for someone to come into the garage and was in a real rush someplace. I happily oblige, hook him up, and send him on his way. I pull my car back into the space and my friend meets up with me-- the guy was so grateful for our samaritan act, he slipped my friend a twenty. Woo hoo! Four free beers!

So I guess we both benefited from right place/right time.

I was in Chicago on a business related trip at my previous job. Decided I wanted to see a Chicago Cubs game, but had to call the day of the game, maybe 3 hours before game time (during coin conventions I didn’t always know if I’d be free up for the night until fairly late in the day).

Called Ticketron or Ticketmaster, asked for the best seat possible. Was told it was field level, but didn’t know where it was. Paid the normal amount, plus the service charge.

Get to the park and find out it’s second or third row. One section to the right of being right behind home plate. If the game was televised, you could have seen me (Not that this would be a treat for anyone. Maybe I should have worn the rainbow colored wig and held up the “John 3:16” sign)

Best seats to a ballgame I’ve ever had, and I’ve probably been to a hundred or two.
