Rightwing fucktards starting their bullshit already.

I checked with Bill, he says “no deal”.

Surely that piece is some sort of parody, or something?

Surely Frank Luntz, of all the possible people in the world, cannot really have the gall to criticize the Republicans for being “adrift in meaningless messaging” and for having “communicated absolutely nothing” recently? Surely Frank Luntz can’t be cautioning the Democrats against playing with language?

This is the guy who has made a career—and presumably plenty of money—doing nothing but help conservatives formulate and disseminate “meaningless messaging” that pushes emotional buttons but says “absolutely nothing.”

The Democrats’ hyperbole and spin that Luntz criticizes in the article pales in comparison with some of the doozies that he’s come up with during his time working for the GOP.

Airman Doors, MFA (UCB)?

Pot, kettle. I’ve been watching leftwing fucktards do those same things on this message board for over five years now. I guess it’s what all fucktards do in their spare time.

And yet, the leftwing fucktards on this board rarely get their stories covered by the mainstream media. So maybe it’s a bit different.

Nah! That guy’s a wuss! He moved all to way to Minnesota from Texas just so he could go to bars where men don’t carry guns.

What was the school like in '69? Does anyone know?

But surely the Republicans are the party of God and are entitled to do His will by getting re-elected?

(This sarcasm brought to you on behalf of British troops in Iraq. Still no WMDs found…)

From the article.

Thanks. So it’s just politics as usual after all.

It’s been twice suggested in this thread that “Oh yeah? Well Democrats do this too, so there!” When was the last time that a Democrat made up a story about someone having links to a terrorist and simultaneously said that bit of bullshit came from a prominent Republican? When was the last time that a Democrat made up anything similar, or indeed anything at all, and then suggested that it came from a
Democrat?

Why do you presume that in every instance of wrongdoing, Democrats did it too? Does it really make more sense than to allow that sometimes, Republicans do bad things all by their lonesome?

I do understand that it probably makes you feel more cognitively secure. Like a little blankey with kitties on it.

And this kind of bullshit works and works again. Then, a couple days later, Fox news issues the talking points on how to defend against the outrage and the littlebrains parrot it like commissars reading from Pravda.

Accusing peope of being with the terrorists is sort of a Republican thing. Democrats would be much happier if everyone forgot that there is such a thing as a terrorist. Accusing certain political leaders of racism, say, or inventing intelligence-denigrating epithets, that’s more their cup of tea.

Actually, as a Democrat, I would love if Bush had remembered to catch bin Laden.

Well that’s why Bush invaded Iraq - because Saddam was responsible for 9/11.

I look forward to your cites for any of this.

Also please explain how Bush’s strategy has ‘tackled terrorism’, especially using international support. Include in your answer ‘Iraq civilian casualties’, ‘the search for Bin Laden’ and ‘Guantanamo Bay’.

Can’t defend rightwing fucktards, of course. I can only note that rightwing non-fucktards are denouncing this story pretty thoroughly. Rightly so, I might add.

That’s pretty representative of mainstream conservative thought.

Given the broad nature of most of these movements, it would be silly to insist on proper behavior from all members of them at all times. That isn’t realistic. What is realistic is looking at how other members of that movement react when bad behavior crops up.

So he attended a Muslim school, but not a madrassa. That’s a fair distinction, since maybe the Muslim school was Muslim in the sense that the Catholic school was Catholic.

Now all we need is the fundamentalist atheists of the SDMB to show up and claim that all religions teach hate, and so both the Muslim and the Catholic schools were madrassas.

Shodan

Good point. Thanks for returning to the SDMB; this is exactly the sort of perspective that was missing along with you.

Thank you.
