Christopher Plummer was fifth-billed but still above the title. Not too shabby. I was not familiar with the Emperor Commodus. No wonder the Roman empire went down the tubes. It seems appropriate Commodus was played by Mr. Plummer.
I remember him from two movies – The Sound of Music and The Silent Partner. Hard to find two characters more different.
