Sorry to hear about that. He was in Stanley Kubrick’s The Killing, too.
He was also in the low-budget film Tormented. When they released the MST3K version of that on DVD, they did a special interview with Turkel, who looked ancient then.

Reading briefly on his wiki page, he had just written a memoir titled, The Misery of Success. Does not sound like a happy book.
I’d forgotten Paths of Glory – an important role. I knew he’d been in a third Kubrick flick. His lasy screen credit was in 1997, playing Tyrell again, but he appeared in 10 TV shows and documentaries since then, according to imdb, one as recently as last year. And they don’t include the MST3K “extra” appearance.
I watched Blade Runner again in 2020 for the first time since the 1980s. He did a pretty good job playing a man who was afraid for his life but had enough wits about him to try to talk his way out of it.
Which brings up the perennial Blade Runner great debate: What is the correct pronunciation of “Tyrell”?
Rachael pronounces it “Ta RELL” in introducing him to Deckard, and her boss/owner doesn’t correct her, so I assume she got it right.

One might presume the first is the WoG. But he’s old and his mind might be going. After all, he didn’t see checkmate even one move away. And I’d take J.F.'s old hand pronunciation over the newbie replicant anytime.
