The Prodigy had extraordinary energy when playing live, and a large part of that was down to Keith. The deranged stage persona was not Keith though - by all accounts he was a quiet, thoughtful, polite and charming man. RIP.

I wasn’t a huge fan but The Fat of the Land was one of the first cd’s I ever bought when I was in middle school? Can’t remember. Smack my Bitch up still gets me fired up though.
I’ve been listening to their latest album, No Tourists, in rotation and was waiting to see their US tour dates. I’m guessing that will all be canceled.

Oh boy, did I love Fat of the Land. I still frequently listen to that cd all the way through, it is just great stuff. When I sampled other songs from different The Prodigy albums their music just didn’t strike me the same way.
Keith Flint in the videos for Firestarter and Breathe was just so damn freakish and mesmerizing. On one hand the stuff of nightmares imagery and on the other I could not look away. I’m actually glad to read Baron Greenback’s comments about his stage persona vs. real-life.

Super gutted by this. For me this is more personal than any of the bigger names in music that have passed in recent years.
My (somewhat mispent) youth was basically defined by seeing The Prodigy live at various music festivals and concerts.
The single of Firestarter was the first CD/Single I ever bought. I have “Breathe” on my youtube to this day. They just announced a world tour and would be making a stop in Florida, I half-heartedly thought of going to the festival just to see them…I guess not now. What is it with the suicides happening just as tours are starting? Happened with Cornell and Chester Bennington
Also, since when did they go by The Prodigy? I thought it was just Prodigy?

I was saddened by this. “Breathe” shuffled up twice during my workout today. I even saw (The) Prodigy live on two occasions.

Additionally, I could absolutely see someone interpreting a cover stating “The Prodigy Experience” as something other than “Experience, an album by the Prodigy”.
As a teenage metalhead in the 90s (and still am, only pushing 40) The Prodigy were probably the only dance band that didn’t irritate the fuck out of me.

Back in the day when it was new, Fat of the Land was banned in all cars among my group of friends because it made us all drive crazy. Especially on that drive from Spokane to Missoula with no speed limit. Well, it was after 1999 so technically there was a speed limit, but enforcement was non-existent at that time, and from what I hear still really isn’t.
