RIP Patrice O'Neal

Crude, misogynistic…and funny as hell.

Damn, what a shame.

First Heavy D and now this. I think I’m going on a diet.

That’s not right. People who can make other people laugh deserve nice long lives.

This is very sad. He was a seriously talented comic. Saw him open for Tracy Morgan at Caroline’s in 2003 and he blew Morgan out of the water. Had no idea who he was at the time but became an immediate fan. He’ll definitely be missed.

Not so sad

some funny ass shit.

Didn’t she die a few years ago? She was up in her 80’s.

I recall him being one of the very few people on Colin Quinn’s “Tough Crowd” who was actually funny.

First Roald Dahl and now this …

I may be being whooshed here, but you’re thinking of actress Patricia Neal.

Comedian Patrice O’Neal (a very large, black man) is who we are discussing.

thanks. sorry for the confusion.

I’m not familiar with this guy, but R.I.P.

It’s a shame, he was really funny.

For some reason all I can think about is his very small role in Arrested Development. He played T-Bone, an arsonist. Of all the memorable lines in that show, I always thought his was the funniest:
Michael: T-Bone, you burn down the storage unit?
T-Bone: Almost definitley.

Isn’t it “Oh, most definitely?”
I love George Bluth pointing to him earlier in the episode:

“He’s a…flamer.”

Only funny later when you realize he meant arsonist.

I was really hoping this wasn’t true, as I first read it on my cousin’s Facebook feed which also said “psychic” Sylvia Browne had passed, which I don’t believe is true. Oh, if she were going to have a 50% accuracy rate, I wish I could have chosen which she’d gotten right.

I thought he was being melodramatic when he kept talking about how he was dying of diabetes in his comedy routines. He was only 41 when he died. That sucks.

Why did he die of CVD at such a young age? Dying at 41 of a stroke is pretty rare. I know he had diabetes and probably bad cardiovascular readings (BP, cholesterol, triglycerides, etc) but a lot of people do and they don’t die at 41.

That’s sad. I hadn’t known about him until last night (Tokyo time). I was watching Comedy Central’s “Roast of Charlie Sheen” and he was one of the roasters. I read his bio and saw some his vids online. Made me LOL quite a few times. Then I get to work after lunch today and see these news reports online. :-((

RIP Funny Man

Well this sucks. I just heard about him passing. He was a very funny man. I recently bought Elephant in the Room on dvd but I haven’t watched it yet but I think I will tonight.

RIP funny man, say hi to Greg Giraldo please.
