RIP Sally Kellerman

Best known for playing Hot Lips Houlihan in the movie version of MAS*H. She was 84.

I guess she finally resigned her commission.

RIP, Sally.

As per a story in The Hollywood Reporter:

I saw her, briefly, on campus when I was attending the University of Wisconsin in 1985, while she was filming exterior scenes for the movie Back to School.

Oh Frank!

:film_strip:

84! A fine actor!

People keep getting old and dying. It makes me sad and they all need to stop.

I saw her in an episode of That Girl just last week. She was in the second Star Trek pilot too.

She played a nurse in an episode of Dream On back in the ‘90s. She was still smokin’ hot!

RIP. :frowning:

I remember Sally from Star Trek. She was very good in that role.

RIP

The first thing I think of when I think of Sally Kellerman is the Rodney Dangerfield movie Back To School.

She played Latka’s mother on Taxi. Very hilarious scene.

“Latka, America is a terrible place! They have toilets inside their homes. They keep dogs as pets and eat chickens.”

I second this.

Thsat was Susan Kellermann

Wow! All these years I thought it was Sally Kellerman. :flushed:

I’d like to think she’s up in heaven right now with Rodney Dangerfield where they both have no class.

Huh???

I didn’t know about this, either, but googling tells me that, on their 1976 album “Born to Die,” there is a song, “Sally,” which was written by Grand Funk singer/guitarist Mark Farner, who was dating Kellerman at the time.

She was awesome in Brewster McCloud (1970): avian, mysterious, unexplained and gorgeous. She was rather less impressive in The Boston Strangler (1968) as a victim. Along with her appearance on Star Trek: TOS, those are the roles I mostly associate with her.

Does anybody else fondly remember wearing out the pause button when watching MASH on a VCR for the first time?

These are the first two roles I think of for her. Hot Lips third as I associate that character far more with Loretta Swit.

Robert Altman used her in many movies as I recall. MAS*H of course, but also Ready To Wear, The Player, Brewster McCloud & Welcome to LA.

She played Jodie Foster’s mother in “Foxes” (1980). Worth seeing just for her.

Oh wow I never realized that was her.
