The greatest first person shooter ever (yes, better than DOOM) has been added to Good Old Games for $6. And it’s compatible with XP and Vista. Sweet!
Did anyone else ever play ROTT? It was wild with crazy weapons, Shrooms Mode and all the flying eyeballs a 13 year old could want.
I can’t wait to get home and load it up again.

Whoa, my husband and I played a whole lot of that game when it came out. Were they the same company who did Hexen? Loved that one too.
Nah. Hexen was Raven Software, Rise of the Triad was Apogee/3D Realms (yes, the guys who are STILL working on Duke Nukem Forever). Needless to say, I’m not holding my breath for ROTT 2.
 Good plan.
I’m going to have to tell my husband about this; sounds like a great nostalgia break for us.

ROTT was a fun game, but I’ll have to take issue with its being better than Doom . Lotta fun, though.
“Dog” mode was a hoot.

Holy Jesus, this is good news. We used to wait after school a few days a week to see if the network admin would let us camp out for a few hours to play ROTT. Might be a good excuse to email some old friends I haven’t spoken to in years.
I thought RoTT was a good effort that lacked polish. Still for those very early FPS only Descent and System Shock are better.
OK, the better than Doom stuff was just the nostalgia talking. I mean, Doom is one of the single greatest games of all time.
But I love ROTT, and it’s amazing how well it’s held up.

Bless you. It’s one of my all-time favorites. Praise heaped by me in this thread.
I’ve never played it, but I’ve heard of it. Was that the one where one of the weapons was a Louisville Slugger +5?
Unfortunately, no Mac version, so it doesn’t look like I’ll be trying it out.
Never seen that website before, but I am totally signing up. Like, right now. They even have more than two options for “gender”! (ie., pirate, Jedi, Dawta, etc.)
Ludicrous gibs!
This old ROTT FAQ has some pretty interesting info, particularly about the Developers of Incredible Power.
