RNC attendee: 'This is how we feed animals.'

From Examiner.com:

Somebody is unclear about how a dog whistle is supposed to work. It’s not a bullhorn and you use it to gently suggest the Republican Party is cool with racists.

OTOH, CNN and Examiner.com are nests of pinko vipers and “specificities” is a really dumb word so Republicans who look for tit-for-tat equivalencies can use it.

I’m actually cool with it. There were some asshats. Asshats got called on being asshats. Asshats are now asshats outside the RNC.
Short of flaying them alive, I’m not sure what else could be done about the situation.

There’s that scene at the end of O Brother where art thou? where the men come tromping in carrying this big pole, put the racist Governor candidate on it and carry him out of town.

They should have done that. :stuck_out_tongue:

Not just a big pole, but a rail…literally riding him out of town on a rail.

It was a rail actually. They ran him out of town on a rail.

Do we know for sure if this was racist? It could have been sexist.

Is there a long history of comparing women to animals? Is there a long history of comparing black people to animals? Are you seriously offering this as an alternative interpretation?

A drunk (<= assumption) racist fuck got kicked out of the RNC, good on them. That his non-drunk form was invited in the first place is problematic.

Somewhere in Virginia, a panicked GOP campaign manager is desperately trying to confirm if George Allen was at the RNC that day.

But yea, unless it turns out to have been someone with an actual position in the RNC, they seem to have done pretty much the only thing they could do.

Put me down for $5 on “That wasn’t racist; he was calling the lamestream media, CNN, animals.”

No, that was clearly racist but he felt someone from the lamestream media was fair game.

That’s the first thing that popped into my head.

Either way, the behavior was thunderously oafish - what was going on in that poor ign’nt idjit’s head?

He’s saying that’ll be the excuse trotted out.

Seriously? You’re cool with it? Two guys make a disgusting racist attack at the Republican National Convention and it’s cool if they just get tossed out? That wouldn’t pass muster in second grade these days. It’s been 24 hours-who are these guys? Where’s their apology? Where’s the apology from the RNC to CNN for giving these doofuses credentials? The RNC isn’t general admission - someone at the state party level decided that these guys were worthy of attending.

The RNC deserves 24/7 shaming until they publicly identify these guys, demand an apology, and send them back to whatever hellhole they came from.

Well, hell, I’ll offer the consipiracy nutjob take: they were actually undercover democrats, our version of Breitbart, or something…but of course the lamestream media will fail to uncover the plot…

Yeah, these aren’t just some hillbillies sitting back in their trailer park throwing beercans at the negroes on their TV screen. These are representatives of the Republican Party. This is the highest governing body of one of two major national parties, and these were credentialed attendees to that convention, possibly appointed or elected delegates. The Republicans are always so quick to damn by association when it comes to the Democrats, but they’re not doing anything other than escort these fucktards out of the convention hall?!? No officials or bigwigs will even go on record to condemn this shit?

To paraphrase something I’ve been saying for years: Not all Republicans are racist, but if you’ve got a person referring to a black person as an animal, out loud in public, you can damn well bet that person’s a Republican.

Have fun under that tent, guys.

I thought of this as well.

Because I can’t possibly understand how someone can be so idiotic as to intentionally do something like this in such a politicized and publicized context.

However, I hadn’t factored in the drunken fool factor.

Not saying it didn’t have a racist intent but my first thought was they are feeding lines to the press, some kind of joke on that(politicians feeding the press).

There’s a rather large overlap between the categories “racist” and “idiot”.

Perhaps they thought they could taunt someone with a CNN camera and it would go unnoticed.

No.

Call it outrage fatigue, but yeah. I’m so sick of disruptive, juvenile, bullshit behavior not only being ignored, but actively encouraged by the Republican Party that it’s refreshing to see swift action taken to get them removed. Are they the only racists in the Republican Party? No. But what happened here was an isolated event and should be treated as such.

And to those asking how these yahoos could have been invited to the RNC in the first place, it’s because the RNC doesn’t employ pre-cogs and no one thought to ask “are you going to get drunk and throw peanuts at a black woman?”
