RO alert: British tabloids sink to an all-time shit-sucking low

I’m going to be honest, I wonder how long it’s going to be until Cameron is questioned by the Police over what exactly he knew. Pretty much everybody in this scandal has been employed by him or has close personal ties with him. At the very least, it shows amazingly poor judgement.

Any chance of a Conservative “palace coup” forcing him out?

If the Tories had a strong majority this might be an option, but with a shaky coalition this would effectively bring down the government. And with Labour doing better in the polls neither the Lib Libs nor the Tories want a general election any time soon.

(Lib Dems are facing electorate anihilation as their brand has become contaminated by involvement in the coalition’s austerity agenda, and the Conservatives risk the “same old Tories” treatment at the ballot box).

Aaaaand he’s gone…

They’ll be putting heads on spikes outside the tower next. This just keeps rolling along and the enquiries have even started yet.

Roll on tomorrow, I’ll be setting NTL box to record it all.

I need to know if BBC America will have it. If so, need to buy more popcorn.

In America it seems he built a bunker to tap phones. He called it the brain room. He even tapped his own execs. Rupert does not respect the rights of the little people and everybody is a little person.

A whistleblower was found dead now.

The Wall Street Journal (another of Murdoch’s newspapers) lashes back:

LEAVE RUPERT ALOOOOOOONE!!!

I have noticed the same trend in a couple of Murdoch’s UK papers (the Times and Sunday Times). They have both ran long articles trying to imply that it’s all the fault of the police.

news of The world whistle-blower found dead

Yea. Not suspicious at all. Just one big happy coincidence :dubious:

Dunno if I’d read too much into this. Here’s an article by Nick Davies:

Sean Hoare was an ill man.

Maybe but when people like him die at such a convrnient time my eyebrows are going to nearly take flight. There is nothing at all i would not put past the various players. We know what ruthless, amoral scum they are. Like i said, i expect Brooks should drive carefully.

The Times front page for tomorrow has a picture of the dead guy sucking on a smoke. Obviously to show that the guy lived a unhealthy life. I don’t think the guy was whacked but it’s a very obvious slant.

Yep, just remember kids, drugs are bad. They will make you kill yourself at just the time it’s convenient for you to shut up…

In all honesty, it’s extremely unlikely that Mr. Hoare was murdered. The added suspicion created by his death is worse for NC than any information he would have — especially since other journalists are quite probably going to talk in the end. Not to mention, premeditated murder when you’re already under investigation by the police is a good way to go to prison for a very long time…

That said, it says something that this actually makes News Corp. look bad, rather than (probably) being a coincidence or suicide or something along those lines.

I very much doubt nefarious activities in this death. As has already been said, he was not a happy bunny anyway and I’m sure the stress of the current investigations would be preying on his mind.

So…correlated not caused (or vice versa) but of course the feeding frenzy surrounding Murdoch will have a sniff at it regardless.

In other news…Rebekah Brooks’ husband is being rather careless with consumer electronics.
It may be nothing but shit…I hope it isn’t!

I have just been watching the BBC *Panorama * programme about the Murdoch empire . It included an interview with gay MP Chris Bryant, one of the few people who has stood up to the bullying tactics of News International. To get their own back on him, the paper published picture of Bryant posing in his underpants.

Just afterwards Bryant met Brooks at a reception. She went to him and said "hello Chris, it’s after dark, shouldn’t you be roaming Clapham Common? (a famous meeting places for gays). Brook’s then husband, the actor Ross Kemp, turned on here and told her to “shut your mouth, you homophobic cow”. No wonder that marriage didn’t last.

Oh non-existent god, I have to approve of Ross Kemp now? Murdoch, that’s the last straw!

I agree, I’m afraid, and I know that will make me look a bit loony. (I also think David Kelly was bumped.)

On page 1 of this thread, I predicted a ‘suicide’. Got the wrong person.
