I’m waiting for someone in this thread to advocate nuking Mecca As a first step in getting rid of “that religion” and/or “those people.” It’d certainly be more honest, and thus less frustrating.
They rarely are. Maher manages to say plenty of stupid shit.
Old white man has bigoted opinions isn’t exactly news.
I bet you still fellate goats…
lolololol
Bill Maher is usually my favorite truth-teller. However, I think he was a little off base in this one, to argue that the schools/police were justified in treating this as a bomb threat (and erroneous, as people ITT have pointed out, in saying they did).
“And the people at the school thought it might be a bomb. Perhaps because it looks exactly like a fucking bomb”

Let’s go down to the Pit and laugh at shit!

Good for you, Ahmed!
Well, isn’t that special.
Wasn’t he supposed to bring his clock? And wasn’t it going to be that young inventors deal, like the one where Obama shot the marshmallow gun? I guess they knew that would be too embarrassing.
To the first question - yes, the invitation said he could show it to the POTUS. To the second question - no, he was invited to the second annual Astronomy Night on the White House lawn, which is very distinct from the ‘inventors deal.’
I find it strange that the most frequent poster to this thread, who has evidenced a lot of interest in this topic, has to ask these questions. It’s almost as if you don’t fucking care.
I think I’ve made it clear from the get-go that I find the whole thing ridiculous and amusing. Does that count as “caring”?
No. Exactly my point. Counts as ignorant bloviating though. Good job, if that was your intent. You’re an exemplary American.
But you gleefully do your best to slander, libel, defame a child and his father for no reason other than your amusement. You’re an exemplary civic member of society.
Nothing I’ve said meets the definition of slander, libel, or defamation.
I didn’t refer to any legal definitions. These words also have colloquial meanings.
And sure if all that concerns you is whether you have done something that triggers legal liability, that says something about your character as well.
I don’t think SlackerInc cares about how we view his character. If he does, that’s awesome, because he’s gone from “Who’s that, again?” to “That’s the guy with the super weird neverending Islamophobic hard on for that 14 year kid with the clock.”
On this topic, if I thought Sam Harris or Bill Maher would disapprove of my stance, that would bother me. Otherwise, no IDGAF.
What’s your stance on childhood vaccinations? You know that Bill Maher is an antivaxxer right? If your standard is WWBMD, you better make sure to adjust your position accordingly.
(What a dumbass moral standard, though. I doubt anyone is shocked.)
Did you know making shit up, like you just did, isn’t against any rule? You can just make up facts, and then think you are right, and never learn anything.
This makes you a fuckhead.
Intelligent people don’t make shit up, and then think they are smart, because they made facts up. You do know this, right?
Your cite supports my assertion. You should try reading what you link to. Don’t you have some other thread in which you’re desperately trolling for attention?
Did you think for a second, that anything would change your mind?
It’s like with the clock. Facts are the last thing that matter in a case like this.
