I’ll admit I’m not much of a game show fan ( Jeopardy and the NEW match game excepted :)). Nor do I know that much about Rob Lowe but I do remember seeing him in a few shows. I don’t remember him having that Popeye mouth thing. Watching his new game show Mental Samurai, has he had a stroke or is it just some affectation?
I saw his “Stories I Only Tell My Friends” show back in October. I was in the 6th row, didn’t notice any kind of Popeye mouth. He looked fine to me.
Checking across the internet, I see I’m not the only one…
Bell’s Palsy, maybe?
He’s always looked so … *young *and healthy! :dubious:
I’m pretty sure Rob Lowe strokes, or has someone do it for him.
He always had that crooked mouth thing. It gets more pronounced the older he gets.
Bow chicka bow bow!
Rob Lowe - stroke?
Nah, I guess he’s ok looking and all but he just doesn’t do it for me.
Best thing Rob Lowe ever did (Parks & Rec was good, too).
Is this the weird mouth thing you are talking about?
He does seem to be talking only out of one side of his mouth unless he gets very expressive, where he speaks more normally.
Exactly, yes!
I just saw part of a one-on-one interview on Youtube, and yes, I can see that the right side of his mouth doesn’t open as far as the left side, or maybe it’s more accurate to say that the two sides of his face move somewhat asymmetrically. It’s not particularly extreme, and gives his face some character beyond his former pretty-boy blandness. He is 55 years old now, and people age differently.
Here’s a clip from the 80’s that shows it’s not something new.
I just watched a show with Drew Barrymore in it, and realized she does a similar thing with her mouth.
He has done that since he was young and I believe he is deaf in his right ear since he was a baby because of mumps so maybe there’s correlation? Idk not a doctor lol
The guy that played the mountain in Game of Thrones Hafthor Bjornsson if you watch some videos of him can’t move the right side of his face, apparently suffers from Bell’s Palsy.
Apparently it’s not exactly known what causes the condition some viruses are theorized to cause it but nothing has been confirmed. Supposedly it goes away after a time. I’m not sure about Rob Lowe but he is known for looking young as perhaps plastic surgery or Botox?
