Robert J. Sawyer appreciation thread

Did a search for his name and it brought up a bunch of threads mentioning his works, but none specifically about him. So here we go.

I read the Neanderthal Parallax trilogy about a year or so ago, loved it, but got sidetracked and never picked up another book of his again.

Until Friday, when I picked up Mindscan. Holy crap! I’m only about 100 pages into it, but I’m ready to call it some of the best sci-fi I’ve read in quite a long time.

I do enjoy his brand of medium-hard sci-fi mixed with realistic dialog. That combination is so hard to find.

So, any other RJS fans out there?

I’m not sure if I’m a fan, but I like most of the few books of his I’ve read. Starplex and Illegal Alien were great; I highly recommend them. Flashforward was mostly good, but I didn’t like the ending. I don’t think I’ve read his others; time for the library, I guess !

Definitely check out the Neanderthal Parallax trilogy, starting with Hominids. That goes doubly so if you’re interested in anthropology at all.
