Robocop's organic elements?

Pardon me for posting, but I think I have a small and succinct question…Does anyone here know how much of “Robocop” from the movies of the same name, is still organic? (Due to various sad and boring complications that I won’t go into, I can’t rent the movie myself at the moment, and a copy from the library will be a few weeks coming.) I seem to remember that his arms were completely replaced with mechanicals, but I’m not sure about that. Can anyone help me out?

Well, thanks for your patience,
Ranchoth

The face is artificial, according to 2. I’d guess that just the brain and CNS are all that remain (like the bits pulled out of Robocop 2). And probably whatever rudimentary digestive organs are needed to process the babyfood.

Does it matter?

From the looks of him, it seems that only his brain, spinal chord, and face were the only organics still useful after his little “accident”.

Honestly, anything else left over would have been useless. Engines and motors would be more important than a heart, but who knows, that could have been useful as well. Although I doubt it. it’s been a while since I’d seen the movie, but from what I recall, after being turned to burger like he was, I doubt any internal organ was left not looking like swiss cheese.

I don’t think 2 makes reference to the fact the face was artificial, just “cold,” meaning “dead,” as in “You’re husband is dead.” I believe that’s the scene you’re thinking of (where his ex-wife shows up at the police department after he’s instructed to forget about her). It was his way of severing the ties, not a reference to the face being artificial.

Well, they agreed on “total limb replacement” in the first movie, and Robo was completely dismembered in the second with no apparant bloodloss, so I’d bet on only the head (mostly) and torso, including a fairly rudimentary digestive system that can get by on baby food.

About the fake face: I’m not sure, but didn’t Robocop also have a line that went something like “They made it to honor him” while speaking to his/Murphy’s wife?

Robocop’s face must surely be the original – in the first movie you can clearly see the scar remaining from the coup de grace shot that Baedeker gave him. There would not be any reason to recreate that on an artificial face.

He’s also said to have organic innards (which he supports with the baby-food-like “paste”), so my guess is that his face, esophagus, and torso are mostly human, with prostheics extending into them. Either part of his brain is still there, or else he has a human brain interfaced to his computer portion, or else they somehow carried over some of Murphy’s mental contents to his computer system. It’s hard to see how any of Murphy’s memories and personality could be retained otherwise.

I wonder how he relieves himself.

I’d buy that for a dollar!
