Rochester Dopefest 2000

After numerous false starts, it’s looking like there will be an actual F3/SDMB meeting in Rochester, NY on or about the first weekend of October.

Those of you who have been on this board for awhile will recognize the name of Melin (some of you with smiles of fond remembrance, some of you with cringes of fear). For reasons I won’t go into, she no longer posts on the SDMB but she is a regular presense on the F3 board. And in October, she’ll be returning to Rochester for her high school reunion.

Naturally this is a great reason for a party. So get in now on the ground floor and help in the planning. Everyone’s invited. If you live in western New York, you should be there. If you live in New York City, Toronto, Cleveland, or Pittsburgh, it’s a short drive away. If you live in Chicago, San Francisco, London, or Beijing, it’s a short drive to the airport.

I might be able to make it depending on how I’m coming along work wise. Should only be a couple hours at the most drive time.

Hey, I live in the Albany area, but my brother lives in Gates (suburb of Rochester). He’s a DJ at 98PXY from 6-10 pm. Anyone listen to that crappy station? The music sucks, but he’s pretty funny.

Just got back from the Flower City. My wife is from there, and we visited family, took in a Red Wings game, went to Sea Breeze and the Strong Museum. Alas, I can’t make it. But have fun, and somebody eat a Zweigle’s White Hot for me.

I’m a newbie, but I live right in Rochester. I am a student at RIT, so I resent that one statement :wink: I’d love to meet some of the people from this place, you all crack me up.

Damn, I love those things! I wish I had thought to buy some when I was there in July. Zweigle’s also makes excellent Thuringer.
