Rock ('n roll) songs about rock ('n roll)

For a quick little compilation. Am I missing any obvious ones that really belong on the list? I want songs that are either about “rock and roll” (or rock music if from the era when they dropped the “'n roll”) or use “rock” often enough to sound as if they fit right in with those that are.

Stray Cats - Rock this Town
Joan Jett - I Love Rock ‘n Roll
Queen - We Will Rock You
Neil Young - Rockin’ in the Free World
Billy Joel - Still Rock 'n Roll to Me
Huey Lewis - Heart of Rock 'n Roll
Bob Seger - Old Time Rock 'n Roll
Neil Young - My My, Hey Hey (Rock 'n Roll is Here to Stay)
Led Zep - Rock And Roll (Been a long long long long time)
David Essex - Rock On
Bloodrock - You Gotta Roll
Jethro Tull Too Old To Rock 'n Roll (Too Young to Die)
Hendrix - Rock Me Baby
Andy Kim - Rock Me Gently
DrHook - Cover of the Rolling Stone (We’re big rock singers…)
Def Leppard - Rock Brigade
Boston - Rock & Roll Band
Four Counts - Rock 'n Roll is Good for the Soul
Byrds - So You Wanna Be a Rock 'n Roll Star
Chuck Berry - Rock and Roll music (if you wanna dance with me)
Dobie Gray - Drift Away (Give me the beat, boys…)
Lou Reed - Rock’nRoll

I almost hesitate to add Twisted Sister - I Wanna Rock.

Also:

Quiet Riot - Cum On Feel The Noize (girls rock your boyz)
Scorpions - Rock You Like A Hurricane

Grand Funk Railroad - We’re a Rock and Roll Band

Rock and Roll is Here to Stay–Danny and the Juniors

R-O-C-K In The U.S.A. by ummm…errr…

John Cougar Mellencamp’s “R.O.C.K. in the U.S.A.”
The Ramones’ “Do You Remember Rock ‘N’ Roll Radio?”
Herbie Hancock’s “Rockit.”

OK, that last one might not really fit in.

The Supersuckers-“Rock and Roll Records (Ain’t Sellin’ This Year)”, from their great new record "Motherfuckers Be Trippin’.
Its a tip of the hat to Willie Nelson’s "Sad Songs and Waltz’s (Aint Selling This year). If you’re making a rock and roll comp about rock and roll, then the Supersuckers HAVE to be on it.

Stones - It’s Only Rock and Roll (but I like it)

Spinal Tap, “The Majesty of Rock”.

OOO…Another good rock and roll anthem is Electric Frankenstein’s cover of the Rubinos classic “Rock And Roll Is Dead (And We Don’t Care)”

“Rock Me” by Liz Phair

ABBA:

“Rock Me”
“Rock and Roll Band”

“It’s a Long Way to the Top (If You Want to Rock and Roll)”-AC/DC
“For Those About to Rock(We Salute You)” - AC/DC
“Rock and Roll Damnation” - AC/DC

I’m not a Grand Funk expert but I think the song you are thinking of is “We’re an American Band”
More related to the topic would be another Grand Funk Railroad song “(Tell Everybody You Know), You’ve Got The Rock and Roll Soul”.

The Velvet Underground have a song called “Rock 'n Roll.”

I Dig Rock And Roll Music - Peter, Paul and Mary, I think.

Bad Company - Rock and Roll Fantasy
Bad Company - Shooting Star
Foreignor - Juke Box Hero
Reunion - Life is a Rock (But the Radio Rolled Me)

Two Dutch bands, you probably can’t get hold of them:

Cats - Rock’n’roll
Champagne - Rock’n’roll star

Not mentioned yet, I think:

Oasis - Rock ‘n’ Roll Star
Oasis - Roll with it

Wolf_Miester yes, you are correct, thank you. I have tried to purge the memory of most of GFR from my brain and am obviosly being succesful only when I want to recall the info.

I thought of another one last night (I really need a life): Little Feat - Rock and Roll Doctor. I think in general the lyrics are at least about the R&R sterotypical life in the 70’s. I actually checked the CD and it is on an excellent disk called Feats Don’t Fail Me Now.

And I misspelled your name, too wolf_meister. Sorry about that. Need. More. Coffee.
