Hi guys, I’m trying to think of who does a song.
It starts with," Rocking the night. Walking on air. Gonna fine me some ( not sure what is said here).
’ Gonna grab me my share.
The other lines I remember are," Take me in your arms. Roll me to the right. Take me into your heart. Rock me tonight"
Does anyone have any idea who does this?
Actually, when I see that screenshot, I remember hearing that this video killed his career because the pink tank top and odd dance moves made people think he was gay.
That’s it, Thanks a lot !
Plus “Billy Squier” sounds a lot like “Billy’s queer”.
I think his career actually died because he sucked.
See : Elton John, Freddy Mercury, and David Bowie–they didn’t exactly surprise anyone when they dropped the charade of being at least bi, but they were talented.
On a vaguely related note, I’m trying to remember that rock song that I’m pretty sure mentioned something about a final countdown, or something like that.
He had a few good songs.
I have a fond memory from my radio days, of a couple of us bursting into the DJ’s studio while “The Big Beat” was playing, waving giant beets harvested from my garden.
I was out of line. I try not to bash singers/groups because it really is a personal thing.
But I do also remember feeling like there were an inordinate number of Billys in the MTV rotation at about that time. Idol, Joel, Ocean, Squier…
Watching the beginning of this video, I have a mental record-scratch moment at the “dir. Kenny Ortega” credit, because that guy went on to make the High School Musical movies, among a bunch of other stuff. Small creative world.
