I thought Jordis did really well, and I hope she gets her own recording contract out of this. It’d really be a waste if she did get pulled into INXS, because I think she’d be overshadowed there.

Marty did really well with Baby One More Time, that was kinda weird but really good. I think I’m going to see if I can find any of the music he did before he came into the show, because his last few performances I’ve really, really liked. I can see him getting pretty far, but I don’t know if he really fits what they want. We’ll see.

Still having the love for Ty, but I’m not seeing him as the frontman for INXS.

Mig didn’t do brilliant last night, but he wasn’t bad either. I’m seeing him getting pretty far on the “Aussie” card (even though he’s not, born outside of Australia & has been living in London for the last few years. But anyway, I digress).

Jessica needs to go. It’s not just her average performances. It’s her whiny, prima-donna attitude (She & JD seem perfectly suited). It’s the fact that any feedback is met with defensiveness and weird excuses. And everything she does sounds the same. She’s got no range.

Deanna’s okay, but kinda meh. I see her doing blues, not INXS.

Suzie’s getting better and better, but I really think she’s not going to make it either. The band praise her for getting better, but in the next breath tell her she’s really still not good enough.

JD’s got the songwriting skillz, but he really has got an attitude problem and no matter how much his fans swing the vote, I don’t think the band are going to choose him as their frontman. It’s only going to shoot them in the foot to have the most unpopular and confrontational person leading the band. Plus his performances the last few weeks have really sounded quite strained and pitchy. And the hand thing. Makes me want to break his fingers.

All in all, I really see it being a face-off between Marty, Mig and Jordis.

For the first time, I really disagree with INXS’ choice; I would have sent Deanna home for sure. It kind of worries me that Tim said that he’s a big fan of Deanna’s voice…what voice?? She’s so limited! That being said, I guess when Jessica gets 4 times voted in the bottom three, it means that the viewers just don’t like her. Sorry to see her go, but not glad that Deanna stuck around, too. Like I said before, there’s no fucking way that Suzie deserved bottom three. JD sucked. Next time around, I’m going to single-handedly counter the JD fans and vote constantly for anyone but JD. Fuck him!! Argh!

Ty was, in a word, horrible. He interpreted Maggie May in the manner of David Cassidy at the height of his teen idolhood. His Miss America smile and sparkling eyes flat out seemed weird with, “Oh, Maggie, I wish I’d never seen your face… That’s a pain I could do without…”, etc. It was almost like some awful lounge singer parody.

As far as the cut, I would say that from those bottom three, it was pretty much pick a card any card.

I’m so very happy right now. I really, really am very happy. Now all we need is for JD to be ditched out on his ass, and the world will be a much better place.

JD will probably end up in the final three, if the last round of voting is any indication.

A good question is, Who could keep up the energy level for a full large-scale INXS concert? I now suspect MiG will win.

I actually know this one…it is a contraction of Mikoyan-Gurevich, the two designers that started the airplane design company.

I had a very minor celebrity brush when Gurevich’s grand-daughter checked out a book from me when I worked at a library desk. “Wow, like the Gurevich?”, I said. “He was my grandfather”, she said. Although she seemed confused that I thought it was at all cool. Hey, I like airplanes :cool:

I was yelling & griping last night about Suzie being in the bottom 3 & Marty being in the top 3. At least Ty didn’t get sent back. I wanted to hear Deanna do INXS last week. (NOT the same as voting someone out, whatever some people think.)

MiG & Marty (& Jordis!) have the zombie fangirl legion voting for them. In MiG’s case, he’s technically good enough that this is sort of forgivable, but it does keep us from hearing whether he can do INXS to the band’s satisfaction. In Marty’s case, it’s unfair to better singers. Marty is fun to watch on concert, but in a purely auditory context (radio, CD’s) he’s not good enough to win.

Jordis, I think, is getting votes for being neither blonde nor in particularly good shape. She does have a really pretty tone to her voice, but one good tone is not a range. :wink:

Maybe Suzie can poach some votes if she dies her hair all brown & wears no makeup next week. :rolleyes:

I now would say Ty, Suzie, & MiG are probably the three best technical singers in the contest, & they all have good stage presence. Ty’s tongue didn’t* really* bother me this week, & he seems to have the coolest bag of vocal effects. I favor Suzie over MiG, because she makes what she does look easy, & he makes what he does look hard. I favor Suzie over Ty because I think INXS are wanting to go with a woman, & I think they should go with a woman. But good grief, it’s gotta be tempting to go with MiG from a commercial standpoint–he’s so swoon-inducing.

I think it’s MiG’s to lose, at this point. My bet for the final three is MiG, Jordis, and Ty. But possibly Marty. I dunno. Marty isn’t so good with hitting the notes. And Jordis has some really priceless bitchface.

My problem with MiG is that he’s so full of himself. He clearly thinks he’s adorable.
