Rockstar/Popstar signature stage moves and sayings

BOC’s Eric Bloom and Buck Dharma used to cross their guitars and slide the strings against each other…what a noise that made!

Another BOC trademark was the “5 Guitars” bit where the drummer and keyboardist would come up front and they’d all wail away, trading off licks.

Les Claypool would usually play (and sing) while bouncing one leg up and down. For some reason, that move always has fascinated me. Amazing musician.

Ralf Hütter and the rest of Kraftwerk appear to stand motionless for the full 120 minutes…

Ian Anderson from Jethro Tull would play flute while standing on one leg.

Wow. What an asshole.

What, no mention of GG Allin? (Warning, don’t Google him at work … or at any other time if you don’t have a strong stomach).

Lux Interior of The Cramps would often end shows by telling the audience to “Stay sick!”

Phil Collins playing In The Air Tonight from behind the drum kit.

I don’t know if this counts, but Rick Nielsen (Cheap Trick) throws LOTS of personalized guitar picks to the audience. It’s not unusual for him to throw out 25 or more in a single show. I have eight of them myself, including two from the same show.

The title of this thread had me thinking of Blue Man Group’s “How to be a Rock Star” video. They did a good job of taking moves from various people and making them generic and hilarious.
