I wonder if the FBI let him hit his head as he was getting into the car?
But wouldn’t be have long ago destroyed any evidence? He had to know that this was a possibility for a while.
It depends on what his plans are. He may want that evidence as something to offer up if he’s planning on trying to make a deal to save himself.
He’s back to pizza on Fridays.
There’s a small chance that Mueller’s been watching Stone and waiting for him to relax his guard. Maybe Stone, once his guard was relaxed, would start creating new incriminating evidence at his house: drunk texts to Trump at 2 am, emails to Bannon about getting away with it, posting on Reddit under multiple socks.
None of those would be real bright, but Stone doesn’t come across as a criminal mastermind.
I dunno, figure it’s a small chance.
The appearance before the judge is at 11am Florida time so a little over an hour from now.
11am my time actually. 2pm in FL
Nvm
Maybe the FBI agents are just in a bad mood because they’re not getting paid and decided to start early to fuck with Trump’s friend.
Though Roger has said that he’d never testify against Donald, I’m not sure he will hold out against Mueller, who would take pride in leaving no Stone unturned.
Roger Stone says he’s being “persecuted”.
No, dummy: you’re being prosecuted.
From the live update feed on CNN’s site:
Go crowd!
Couple of funny tweets I’ve seen:
If Trump really wanted to see Hillary locked up, he should have hired her to work on his campaign.
And:
Someone finally got arrested for Hillary’s emails, and it wasn’t her.
I love it! Made my Friday.
picks up rock…
That was way less fun than I thought it would be.
It’d be kinda funny if he had been a flight risk, but couldn’t get out because of the shutdown.
Obstruction, false statements, witness tampering: People like Stone and Trump are so reptilian that they will lie every chance they get if they think it will serve their immediate purposes. So you don’t catch them for what they did directly, you investigate, ask them questions in an official capacity and let them be their compulsively dishonest selves. Like Nixon, they’ll hang themselves with the cover up rope. They may stick together if they fear their mob boss enough but if you give them an out or threaten them with worse, they won’t have any sense of loyalty or greater purpose.
For those who remember Kohlberg’s stage of moral development (which I certainly won’t defend in its entirety), it’s like they’re stuck at stage one of obedience/punishment and stage two of self-interest.
Remember Carter Page? He’s the only Trumpette I can remember who made an effort to cover his own ass with his statements and it looks weird, contrived and suspicious every step of the way: Who Is Carter Page & Why Is He On a Crazy, Self-Incriminating Press Tour?? - YouTube You may have to forward the video a bit
He was a Trump campaign manager early in the campaign, and was (allegedly) communicating with Wikileaks.
Stone himself complained about that, saying he would have turned himself in if asked. I think about the evidence that Stone could have destroyed, but honestly I’m sure he destroyed that evidence already. So maybe they just wanted to humiliate or disorient him. I don’t see this as a significant complaint though.
I like this line in the Wikipedia article:
In addition to serving as a frequent campaign advisor, Stone was previously a political lobbyist. In 1980, he co-founded the Washington, D.C.–based lobbying firm Black, Manafort, Stone with principals Paul Manafort and Charles R. Black Jr.
I guess it’s time to drain the swamp of these dirty tricksters. Lock them up!
I still don’t believe that he let his passport expire. No adult does that, especially someone who does travel. He’s not some 21 year old that backpacked around Europe once before he got an adult job.
