"Roller Boogie" car question

Wahoo! Got to see my all-time favorite horrible movie again last night thanks to insomnia. The best “poor little rich girl who is a musical prodigy and headed to Julliard who falls in love with with the roller disco champion from the wrong side of the boardwalk and helps save the skating rink from evil mobster developers” flick ever.

Does anyone know what type of car Linda Blair is driving in the movie? I seem to remember seeing a few of these abominations in the '70s IRL: are they “kit” cars? Did some misguided manufacturer actually mass produce these Frankenmobiles?

The car in question.

More cheesy goodness.

Great stills! Do you happen to know what the car is?

Not a clue. I just googled around and found some images and figured I’d link to them to save others the trouble. I have no affiliation to that site. (Thank og).

In fact, I read the thread title and thought to myself, “Wow, I hadn’t thought of that movie in years. And OTHER people saw it? I thought I was the only one. I MUST read this thread.”

Completely WAGish on my part, it does look like a kit car.

It looks like an Excalibur.

Here’s what The World’s Worst Cars has to say about the Excalibur:

Here is an Excalibur on eBay.

I looked at Turek’s photos again and compared the ‘scallop’ running below the top of the door and below the top of the rear body, the shape of the door opening, and the instrument panel. They look the same to me.

Here’s another one, only with four seats.

That’s the car! Whoo . . . $40k on eBay for this abomination. Thanks for the research, Johnny L.A.

Didn’t Matt Houston (Lee Horsely) drive one of those?

According to posters at the IMDb message board for Matt Houston, yes.
