Last night I first heard about this digital version of every issue for the last 40 years.
It was part of a PBS fundraising package giveaway at the $300 level but looks to be available separately for about $80.
Does anybody have it?
Looks like there is something comparable for Playboy magazine.
I’m curious as to how searchable it is.

This is great news for music fans, because using the search function (it’s gotta have one, right?), one could readily locate those increasingly rare, miniscule bits of writing about actual music and musicians.
From the 70s?
I was referring to the decline of RS as a music-oriented mag. Exactly when and how gradually that happened I don’t know, but when I was a subscriber in the mid-'90’s, I was often repulsed by the extent it had become a print equivalent of MTV… which also has precious little interest in actual music or musicians these days.
Rolling Stone ceased being interesting or relevant in the early/mid-'70s. It’s been trendy pablum ever since, getting progessively worse with every passing decade. Hell, that sounds like a description of the entire country.

The software took quite a while to install but once installed it works great and is amazing to have all of that content at your fingertips!!
