Rolling Stones ''Like a Rolling Stone'' video: how'd they do it?

I’m watching the Rolling Stones video for “Like a Rolling Stone”. It appears to be shot mostly with that multi-camera “Matrix” technique. How are they able to make the images all twisty, though?

I’m not too sure of the entire process but I think they used the “morphing” technique to blend and twist the images. At this page near the bottom there is a small referance towards the makings of the video.
