So are going to see adult Octavian this episode? And what’s gonna happen with Vorenus’s “son” and daughters? It doesn’t seem like a good idea to have child characters played by the same actors in a show where years can pass in the same episode.
Was that adult Octavian getting fucked from behind? Quite scandalous for a free-born man of his status.
No.
Wheels within wheels within wheels. But where are the titties? There was plenty of sausage, but where was the casual female nudity of the 1st season?
If they are really compressing the timeline, then our waterboy was who, John the Baptist?
Yeah, but I’d still like to get behind (or infront) of him . The pot thing was interesting. Is it just me or has Atia gotten fatter?
I’m pretty sure that the one who was getting baptized was Brutus. (In any case, note that he was praying to Janus.)
It looks like perhaps Atia HAS gained a little weight, but I still happen to find her disturbingly hot. I really hope she doesn’t eat the stew; it would make me very sad if she ate the stew.
I’m a bit curious as to where Pullo left his wife. It seems like a dangerous place, I’m not leaving anyone I love anywhere near there.
Not a bad episode, overall.
Atia has definitely put on a little weight.
That was definitely Brutus going to a new life. He looks better all shaggy with the beard.
I don’t see how TPTB are going to have time to work the storyline of Timon’s brother being a freedom fighter/revolutionary into the next few episodes.
I felt for the poor bastard who had to read Cicero’s proclamation to Antony.
I also felt for Pullo when Vorenus started getting all Raging Bull with the “Did you fuck my wife?” stuff.
I guess we’ll get to see the new Octavian next week. I like how Antony’s biggest weakness is is his own ego and his inability to see Octavian as anything but a stupid kid despite the fact that Octavian consistently thinks circles around him.
Oh, yeah. I (and he) saw that coming. Antony was not going to take that well.
Yea, Cicero owes that guy.
“Excuse, Mark Antony, can I just skip ahead to end of this, it’s really boring… Trust me…”
Oooh, oooh, so Rome is on Sunday nights?
I’m a new convert - in Saskatchewan it only airs on a speciality channel costing $17.95 a month, so I’ve gotten my hands on it in other ways, as you can imagine.
I’m looking forward to seeing older Octavian. I feel what they could do with his first actor was rather limited (at least as Rome goes).
Having never seen an HBO show before, even knowing the channel’s reputation, I was floored by the sheer amount of sex and nudity. Not that that’s a bad thing, oh no. :o
Kushiel, they will be showing the first three episodes of Rome on this Friday night, so stay tuned in.
Was it just me or was there a lot of man-rape in this ep.? And very little humor. For a show that is normally dark, this is taking a grim turn. With Vorenus off with Antony, that will leave Pullo with Caesar – he pledged to help Octavian avenge his uncle’s death. But before that, tracking down the kids. Will that be enough to reinstate their friendship? I do like the Pullo and Vorenus dynamic.
Yes, I really noticed it this week.
Wow, this was a great episode. I like the new people the writers are introducing, and the all the twists and turns. The bit with Brutus in Turkey was kind of funny, and I thought it was hilarious how Cicero flinched every time Marc Antony made a quick movement. I thought for sure Servilia was going to slap that kid in the face, though. He’s walking a dangerous line.
But is Vorenus still a Senator? I don’t see why he wouldn’t be. I thought the left all the changes in place that Caesar made.
“I imagine the trick is to train the baboon.” Great line.
I wonder if the Pullo/Vorenus connection is what’s going to pull Antony and Octavian back together. Maybe the writers will make them peripherally responsible for the formation of the Second Triumvirate, just like they did with the other major events to date.
Im gonna have to disagree, i laughed more at this episode than i have at the last few. The look on Ciseros face when anthony just whips out his dick and starts taking a piss right next to him, the baboon talk, etc. I won’t complain at the massive amounts of male ass on this episode since its been so good to us guys in the past… i gotta say though, if you are planning to rape a guy in the ass to teach him a lesson catching him while hes taking a dump seems like a really stupid idea.
Someone push Fattia away from the table. No wonder she’s gotten so big. . .did you see how much stew the boy was serving her?
Oh, there was some humor in this episode.
How about hte boy telling Sevillia he’d have the job done if he could find a way to get the poison on Antony’s cock?
I thought the guys ripping on Brutus was pretty funny, too.
There was more man-crack in this episode then billiard’s night with the pipe-fitters.
I was deeply dissapointed in that scene. Unless Servilia has an attraction to the boy, it make no sense for her to allow him to have such power over her as to be able to order her to kiss him.
The “real” Servilia would have turned her her servants and said: “Have this boy killed and find me another assasin.” It’s not as though cut-throats were in short supply, after all.
