Same thing with Ron Howard… I think he’s a great producer/ director… but as Opie and Ritchie… well, those were some pretty gay characters, yet simultaneously they were not stupid, lame, or crappy. In fact, they are someof America’s favorite, lovable, characters from a by gone time… but they are still pretty gay.
And really, as a wanna be director and peering into the meta of this movie, I think it is a cultural time capsule… it dates the movie to a particular time and place. Now this could be good for the development of setting and characters, but it will date you like a Hughes Film… I think it is self- aware tech speech, convenient to time, place, character and medium.
