Ron Moody dies at 91

Story here.

I never knew he was offered Dr. Who at some point. I remember him, of course, as Fagin in Oliver! Most of his work was in British films that didn’t show (or not much) over here in the US.

I liked him in The Twelve Chairs, Mel Brooks’ second and most-overlooked movie.
I think I’ve only seen him in that and in Oliver!. To tell the truth, I didn’t even know he was still around.

I know him from an old TV series called Into the Labyrinth, which had a lot in common with the original purpose of Doctor Who.

He did a fine job, as did the woman who played the villain.

The Twelve Chairs was good and Dracula thread contestant Frank Langella was also excellent in it.

He was brilliant in both.

Aww… he was still spry during the 2003 reunion of Fagin, Nancy, and the boys. There was a touching scene when he and Jack Wild reprised their dance at the very end of the movie.
