I thought this was an interesting watch. You could tell age was taking it’s toll, but he comes across sharper than my mother who is 63. He doesn’t seem like he was deep in the grips of Alzheimer’s yet.

Without commercials:
[/QUOTE]Reagan was a once in a generation type of president. Even in old age, he still had political charm and skill when speaking.
Very few can defend a position the way he could by being warm and amenable, while also highlighting his points in a gentleman’s type of way. I also think he had a pleasant sounding voice. He had a way of breaking down walls, and drawing you in to listen to what he was saying. Very rare.
I would agree with that. The important thing about this interview, for me anyway, is that it shows he didn’t have dementia in office. I mean, this is 1991, two years after he left office, and while he stumbles a little, he doesn’t seem too out of it for a man who was turning 80. Subtract two years of aging, and the almost fatal head injury he suffered in 1989 after leaving office, and I don’t see any reason why one would think he was senile in his second term. He seems quite lucid here.
My thoughts exactly, he was not a man with dementia in this interview. What a difference…
(Much) less stress, perhaps?
